MedCLIVAR2026
The Mediterranean Climate: Variability, Change, and Regional Futures
The MedCLIVAR Network warmly invites you to participate in the 8th MedCLIVAR Conference, taking place from 21 to 25 September 2026.
Organised by the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) of the Cyprus Institute, the conference will be hosted in the vibrant coastal city of Limassol, Cyprus, under the auspices of the Municipality of Limassol.
This biennial conference is the flagship gathering of the MedCLIVAR Network, bringing together the community to advance a truly multidisciplinary understanding of Mediterranean climate evolution. It will address atmospheric, marine, and terrestrial components across time scales ranging from paleo reconstructions to future climate projections. We welcome contributions exploring observational and modeling studies of Mediterranean climate variability and change, mechanisms triggering extreme weather and climate events, and their socio-environmental impacts. Studies addressing vulnerabilities, resilience, and adaptation responses across natural and human systems in Mediterranean contexts are highly encouraged.
We look forward to welcoming you to Limassol and to your active participation in a conference that will bring together climate experts from across the Mediterranean and beyond to exchange ideas, foster collaborations, and shape the future of Mediterranean climate research.
